An imaginative, irreverent and independent thinker, Judith Brandt has reached some startling conclusions in her new book
THE 50-MILE RULE: Your Guide to Infidelity and Extramarital Etiquette, conclusions that defy the common wisdom that adultery
is always indefensible.
Born in New York City and a graduate of one of the city's elite public high schools, Judy acquired both an MBA and a
Masters in Education while pursuing a career in promotions and entertainment marketing. But even as her career began to
take some interesting turns, her marriage began to flounder.
It was in fact on the day that she woke up, stared at her husband of 7 years and silently asked 'who the hell is this guy
and why am I here?' - right on schedule actually - that she began to entertain the thought of cheating. She didn't - but after
her divorce, she did become 'the other woman.' That relationship, by turns thrilling, tumultuous and depressing but always educational,
provided the basis for THE 50-MILE RULE.
Judy comes from a writing family and is no stranger to documenting her activities, in this case with the help of numerous successful -
and some not so successful - cheaters willing to share tips and cautionary tales.
An inveterate reader, moviegoer and devoted sports fan, Judy has been on good terms with her ex-husband. In her spare time she mountain
bikes with her dogs Ryder and Lucky, tours the bars of the world under the guise of playing rugby, and roots for her beloved
Denver Broncos and New York Yankees. THE 50-MILE RULE is Judy's first book, and she has enjoyed the controversy it's caused.
